It is with a heavy heart we mark the passing of Katie Watson, chaplain, Captain and Novos supporter. Katie has supported the club for many years and helped to manage her son’s team in the past, latterly when time permitted, she was on the touch line cheering the team on.
Katie was a Captain in the Royal Military Police, serving in Bosnia during the height of the conflicts. In recent years she has served as a chaplain at Newcastle Hospitals, where her strength, kindness and humanity were a shining example and enormous comfort to staff and patients alike. She has meant so much to so many where she touched their lives, often at their lowest point.
Katie’s wife, Emily, their children and family are in our thoughts. We will honour her through the game she loved and our memories of her as a member of the Novos family will be treasured.
